Felt Board Tutorial

I like the idea of making a felt board, but never considered just cutting out shapes to give your kids the chance to create their own pictures and be a little creative. What a great idea! Here is the site with the tutorial: http://jchandmade.typepad.com/photos/felt_board_tutorial/fb_tutorial.html

Silhouette Art

I just found a tutorial Here - http://awdreyh.blogspot.com/2009/03/silhouette-drawings-tutorial.html

Have I posted something like this before? I can't really remember, but I have been wanting to make silhouette pictures of my kids and now I have some instructions from Family Fun http://jas.familyfun.go.com/crafts?page=CraftDisplay&craftid=12103

Menu Planning

I hate, hate, hate planning meals and making dinner. O.K. I may have gone overboard on the "hates", but I really do dread meal time at our house.

I appreciate new ideas to get me organized or that put a fun spin on dinner time. So - here are some ideas (and there websites) to help plan the weekly/monthly meals that I thought might be useful.

Etched Pans

I have been curious for some time how people have made those etched pans. Well...I found my answer on Make and Takes http://www.makeandtakes.com/etched-glass-pans.

Update: here is another tutorial http://createstudio.blogspot.com/2009/03/glass-etching-tutorial.html

Fun Quilt

I was browsing Crazy Mom Quilts - there are so many darling quilts I could post. Recently she posted about this one she found here at http://greetingarts.typepad.com/greetingarts/2007/05/scrappy_cartwhe.html. I thought it was cute.
I like rag quilts a lot and I love this one she made...

In place of Christmas Decorations

I hate taking down all my Christmas Decorations. I would probably leave them up until Valentines if I didn't have a baby on the way,but with a new arrival very soon I know they would still be up come Easter and summer, because I am only capable of doing a few things at a time and my house will be on the back of the list with baby and kids on top. So....what I am getting at is that I love to leave up my snowman and snowflakes and anything that has to do with winter, because it is still winter and then i don't feel so bad not taking them down until Easter :). I can even leave up some white lights. (Which I love!) Anyway...here is a snowflake project that I thought looked cute and simple. :)

Again I found it under Tip Junkies Super Saturday Crafts, but the link wasn't working so I don't know exactly how she made it, but it is cute!

Tile Pictures

I have seen these before and want to give them a try some day. I really like the idea of doing a family photo one. I found both pictures off of Tip Junkie under Super Saturday Crafts.
Here is a tutorial for the one just above...http://summerglenchandler.blogspot.com/2008/01/how-to-make-tile-pictures.html

Getting Organized

You would never know it walking into my house, but I love to organize. It's just that I can't seem to keep anything that way and I am a magnet for clutter. So... with the new year rolling in it seems like a great time to get back into the swing of things and get my house more organized and clean (maybe I have just hit that nesting stage of pregnancy). To be honest I have been trying to clean my house, but I get worn out almost immediately :) - so nothing every gets done and my house looks like a tornado hit. If, however, I ever get around to it here are some ideas I found that i liked the looks of. The first two I got off the 30 days website in my favorites and the last two came from onestepahead.com. The other ideas I can't remember where they came from it's been some time that they have been hanging out in my computer. oops :)

When there is no Mantle

Of the 5 different homes I have lived in since I have been married only my current one has a fireplace mantle to hang stockings from. I think this is such a cute idea. Especially since another move is coming up for us and we may not have a mantle next year or the years after. I found this off TipJunkie along with other great ideas to hang stockings without a mantle.
